Emil Ebdrup - About Me

Emil Ebdrup

I am a dyslexic conceptual fine artist from Viborg, Denmark. Usually, my works bear the use of old landscapes that surrounds Viborg as sources of inspiration. My art is about telling a story where I do not have to fight with writing it, instead, I use small but significant details to tell the story.

I'm a young conceptual Danish fine artist who works with photography used to create fairy tales full of soul and character. A story is depicted through the use of small details to create the significance and purpose of the image that can often only be seen when studying the photo closely.

My works are a combination of multiple edited layers of images taken on location. They will thereafter be edited together to depict the chosen story that I would have otherwise, due to my dyslexia, have difficulties writing.

I have painted through my entire life, but it was first when I found photography that I started being able to create stories that had beforehand only existed in my head.

When I build my ideas for my works I always start by choosing what colors and props should be incorporated. Afterward, I chose the appropriate dress for the model, which furthers my grasp on the theme I want to pursue. It is first when I have accomplished each individual step that I ask myself the questions of what I want to create and why I want to create it.

The sketch is the culmination of the answers to those two questions and visualizes the position of the model and props. A small story is also used to guide the visualization and centers my focus on set.
